Lotus Bearings are capable of ludicrous RPMs. From beginners to pros the increase in spin allows players more time to learn a new trick without having to throw again or completing a long combo for competitions. There is no break in period and they run almost silent. Since they are dry lubed (except XDs), there is no need to add any yo-yo lube whatsoever. Doing so will result in a responsive bearing and is not recommended.
Competition grade yo-yos cost anywhere from $100-$200+. Running the factory 8 ball bearing as the "engine" of your yo-yo investment is not an option. Expect the best for your throws. Expect Lotus Bearings.
